Google is bring back missing evaluations in Google Service Profiles after fixing a bug that caused them to get erased.

Google is repairing a bug that triggered evaluations to go missing out on from Google Business Profiles. Google validates reviews are getting brought back. Google’s Search Liaison, Danny Sullivan, announced on Buy Twitter Verified in reply to Mike Blumenthal, who says he reported the bug a week earlier.

Blumenthal isn’t overemphasizing the severity of the bug. Reviews are a dining establishment’s support, and eliminating them can substantially impact profits.

There are various threads in the Google Organization Profile assist forums begun by company owner who lost most or all of their evaluations.

In each thread, business owners share one thing in common. After using Google’s suggested edits to their company profile, they all lost reviews.

Blumenthal composes in a blog post that he discovered Google was altering the customer recognition (CID) number when companies used suggested edits:

“With some digging, I discovered that in each case Google had altered the CID, the identifier Google uses to connect all pertinent details to a business, consisting of reviews. Typically the CID just changes when 2 listings merge or Google has actually hard-suspended a listing for guidelines offenses and then restored it.”

Client reviews are associated with a specific CID number, which indicates changing the CID eliminates the reviews.

That must never ever take place, especially not when using Google’s recommended edits.

A fix is on the method, and hopefully, it’s as simple as going back the impacted Google Business Profiles to their original CID numbers.

We’ll upgrade this post if Google shares additional details.
